Call for 2010 Tribute to Heroes Honorees
Cedar Rapids, IA – April 6, 2010 – Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival today issued a call for 2010 Tribute to Heroes honorees. Five Heroes will be recognized at the annual Freedom Festival Heroes Luncheon, June 25, 2010, 11:30 AM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cedar Rapids. The honored heroes will also act as Grand Marshals for the annual Freedom Festival parade on Saturday, June 26, 2010.
This year the Heroes Luncheon is sponsored Surgery Center Cedar Rapids and the Teahen Funeral Home.
Heroes may be individuals, both young and old, who have made, or are making, a positive contribution to our community. The hero’s acts need not be of a ‘lifesaving’ nature. Many citizens show their heroism through extraordinary service, courage, compassion or perseverance. A category honoring a hero who is or has been in the service of his or her country is also observed.
Hero nominees may be a friend or family member, a neighbor, a co-worker—anyone you know or who has had an impact upon you or someone you know. Nominees must reside in Linn or any bordering county.
Nomination forms are available at the Festival office, 226 2nd St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401, or online at www.freedomfestival.com/Content/Freedom-Festival/About/Contests/Tribute-to-Heroes.aspx . Nomination forms must be postmarked no later than midnight Friday, April 16, 2010.
