William “Bill” Frese
AIR FORCE
1952-1992
William “Bill” Frese was born in 1932 in Norway, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Pickart Frese. He graduated from Norway High School in 1950. A loyal and loving son to his mother Elizabeth, Bill was the youngest of four brothers. Even though his oldest brother Floyd was killed in WWII, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at age 18 and served in the Korean War for one year. Bill was proud of his time with the Air Force, where he spent four years on active duty and then 36 years on active reserve service for a total of 40 years. Bill retired from the Air Force as a master sergeant at the age of 60. Bill met the love of his life, his wife Donna in 1958. It didn’t take long for the couple to realize that they were a match. Bill and Donna were soulmates and were married for 62 incredible years. Bill's main purpose in life was to be a loving husband to his wife, Donna, his six children and 16 grandchildren. Throughout his life Bill exuded joy, passion and care for others. Bill was hard working, humble, honest, and of high character and determined to build a better life for the family that meant so much to him. Bill was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2020 and passed away with his family by his side on January 16, 2022, just six days shy of his 90th birthday. He is forever missed.
