Glynn Noonan

Glynn Noonan was born April 3, 1925, in Maquoketa, Iowa.  Glynn was the 4th of 5 sons of Frank & Mae (Budde) Noonan & grew up on what has now been designated as a Century Farm in Rural Bernard. Glynn entered the Army on November 30, 1950. After learning Morse Code, Glynn served as a radio operator with the Korean Military Advisory Group (KMAG). Glynn finished his service stationed at Navy Pier in Chicago before his discharge on August 29, 1952.  After serving his country, Glynn returned home to the family farm.  Glynn & his brothers enjoyed playing baseball for many years with the Bernard Indians. Glynn married Edna (Betty) McDevitt on January 31, 1953 & they raised 6 children. Glynn was someone that was able to fix anything from farm equipment to household items. Glynn was a proud member of American Legion Post #528 in Cascade where he served as Post Commander. Glynn served 12 years on the Western Dubuque Community School District School Board. Glynn was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal fan.  Glynn passed away in Dubuque, Iowa on January 30, 2022.
