Thomas McMahon

Thomas E. McMahon (E-5) son of Emmett and Mina was born and raised in Oelwein, Iowa. He joined the Army in 1966 and spent a year stationed in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. One of the highlights of his service was accompanying five-star General Omar Bradley to Omaha Beach on the 25th anniversary of D-Day, landing on the beach in a Huey Helicopter. After leaving the service, Tom returned to the Cedar Rapids area where he worked as a diesel mechanic and raised his three daughters with his wife Gwen. In his retired life, he enjoys fishing, camping, and spending time with his 8 grandchildren and great-grandson.
