Marine Corps

1964 - 1966

He was enlisted in the Marine Corps on Sept. 22, 1966, and was discharged on Sept. 21, 1972. He served two years of active duty and 4 years of reserve duty.

After his discharge from active duty, Steve worked for Xerox in California before returning to Iowa to complete his education. He then worked as a data processing manager for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, now the University of Iowa Health Care, before joining the IBM sales staff in Cedar Rapids. Following his retirement from IBM, he joined Principal Financial Group. He retired from Principal Financial Group in 2005
